Proscenic has made home cleaning appliances since 2013 and says it has served more than 6 million households. Its range covers the three kinds of floor cleaner most homes choose between: cordless stick vacuums, robot vacuums and wet-dry floor washers. Here's how to tell which one fits your home, and how the P15, P20 OnePass, Q20 Plus and F10 Ultra compare.

Stick, robot or wet-dry?

  • A cordless stick vacuum is the all-rounder. It cleans floors, stairs, sofas and the car, and converts to a handheld for shelves and corners.
  • A robot vacuum does the daily floor pass for you on a schedule. It keeps dust and pet hair under control but won't do stairs, furniture or deep corners.
  • A wet-dry vacuum vacuums and mops hard floors at the same time, so it picks up both crumbs and sticky spills. It isn't made for carpet.

Many homes end up with two: a robot for the daily pass and a stick vacuum for everything else.

What the specs mean

Suction for stick vacuums is quoted in kilopascals (kPa) and for robots in pascals (Pa), so you can't compare a stick and a robot directly. Within the same type, more suction helps most on carpet and with pet hair; on hard floors, the brush roll matters as much. Brands measure suction at the motor in the strongest mode, so treat it as a ceiling, not what you get every day.

Runtime is quoted in the lowest power mode. Expect a much shorter run in max mode, so if you have a lot of carpet, look at how long the battery lasts in the middle setting too.

Proscenic P15 vs P20 OnePass

Both are cordless stick vacuums with up to 70 minutes of runtime in the lowest mode. The P15 has 55 kPa suction, three cleaning modes and a telescopic tube, and is the cheaper of the two. The P20 OnePass steps up to 70 kPa and a 680W motor, and its 180° bendable tube lets you reach under beds and sofas without bending down. Proscenic says the P20 is its best-selling model.

Choose the P15 for a flat or a home with mostly hard floors. Choose the P20 if you have carpet, pets or a lot of low furniture.

Proscenic Q20 Plus robot vacuum

The Q20 Plus has 10,000 Pa suction and uses dToF laser navigation to map rooms, with 3D AI obstacle avoidance to steer around cables, socks and pet bowls. Its base station empties the robot into a 4L bagless bin, so you don't need to buy bags and you empty the bin much less often. Proscenic quotes up to 200 minutes of runtime, which is enough for a large home in one go.

Before the first run, pick up cables and small toys, and set no-go zones in the app for pet bowls and rugs with tassels.

Proscenic F10 Ultra wet-dry vacuum

The F10 Ultra vacuums, mops and washes hard floors in one pass, with up to 60 minutes of runtime, a 1.3L water tank and a self-propelled head that pulls itself forward. One-press self-cleaning rinses the roller in the dock after use. It's a good fit for kitchens and homes with tile, vinyl or sealed wood. Don't use it on carpet or unsealed wood, and empty the dirty-water tank after every clean so it doesn't smell.

Filters, allergies and pet hair

The US EPA advises using a vacuum with a HEPA filter on carpet and upholstery to reduce dust build-up, and suggests that people with asthma or allergies leave the room while it's being vacuumed. Check whether the model you want lists a HEPA filter, rinse or tap out the filter as the manual says, and replace it when it stops coming clean. For pet hair, a tangle-free or anti-hair-wrap brush saves you cutting hair off the roller.

Battery care

Lithium-ion batteries last longest when you don't leave them flat for weeks or store them in a hot car or garage. Charge on the supplied dock or charger only. If the runtime drops a lot after a year or two, a replacement battery is usually cheaper than a new vacuum, so check that spare batteries are sold for your model.

Frequently asked questions

Which is better, the Proscenic P15 or P20?

The P20 OnePass has more suction (70 kPa vs 55 kPa) and a 180° bendable tube, so it's better for carpet, pets and low furniture. The P15 costs less and has the same quoted runtime.

Does the Proscenic Q20 Plus need bags?

No. Its auto-empty station collects dirt in a 4L bagless bin that you empty by hand.

Can I use the Proscenic F10 Ultra on carpet?

No. The F10 Ultra is a wet-dry cleaner for hard floors such as tile, vinyl and sealed wood.
